17th century corporate/capitalist scapegoating

August 16, 2011

Captain Kidd exhibit at Museum of London Docklands. We spent the time enticed by the parallels between history and modern day pirates and corporate scape-goating of individuals to take the blame for doing the “dirty work” (for example even in ICC trials). The museum also has a permanent exhibition about slavery and the history of the East India Company and commerce in London (east London shipping yards in particular). It is worth visiting.

Canada Water and Canada Square… well, frankly, looks like downtown business district in Toronto… or Calgary… But, we did sit in on a sound check of the London Symphony Orchestra, as they prepared for their evening concert in the park.
