Young and Restless (yes, i do mean: янг i pecтлиc)

... and yet, sometimes it is just nicer, better, easier, to stay at home...

We had ambitious intentions for the day today! The special appearance of sunshine made us hopeful that walking along the Thames, from Borough to Southbank to the National Portrait Gallery would be possible -- but then again, why?!? It is holidays, no?

We made it to Borough Market, where a couple of hours drifted by pleasurably with cider, mulled wine and a delicious gift of gluten/sugar-free muesli bars for Omega from the lovely woman at Mini Magoos!

Resting and eating at Borough Market is always pure holiday... we were able to imagine being in Paris!

Or Spain... (well, no, we are in London... with fork lift trucks, apparently)

This picnic settled Omega's body enough to brave the ride back home, where the day turned into a cozy-home-day of movies, music, snacks, cider ... to which Alpha happily returned after an afternoon reckoning with contract law and "areality" (two unrelated events of the day).

In the words of Omega's favorite singing drinking sea-faring musicians: "The work it is hard and the hours are long, but my spirit is willing, my back it is strong. And when the work's over the whisky will pour, we'll dance with the girls upon some foreign shore..." And fortunately, all this in the comfort of our own home!!

p.s. For those of you wondering, Omega does part with her beloved hat whilst indoors

p.p.s For family reading this blog: yes, I do mean "янг i pecтлиc" :-)
